Beautiful things shouldn’t make you feel stupid.

Sotamesa is a private wine club in Berlin. Wine chosen by hand and explained like a friend would. No jargon, no ceremony, no shame in asking.

30 seats · invite only · 7 wines a month
How it works
01

A menu drops every month

Seven wines around one idea. Young wines, wines from the coast, wines that have no business being where they are.

02

You hear the story, then you choose

Every wine comes with a voice note. The grape, the place, the person who made it. Then you pick your bottles, or let the club pick for you.

03

You pick up, you taste, you learn

Bottles wrapped in Spanish newspaper, opened around a table. By month six you’ll order wine at a restaurant without looking at the price.

Waitlist

Every member but one ordered wine last month. They were traveling.

When a seat opens, the waitlist hears first. Get on it.

Outside the club

Sotamesa also pours where you work, cook and gather.

Restaurants, cafés, studios and companies bring Sotamesa in for the part of wine they don’t have time to master. A direct line to a deep Barcelona catalogue, and someone who explains every bottle in one honest sentence.

  • 01  Collaborations. Your craft, our wine. Co-hosted nights that neither of us could throw alone.
  • 02  Hosting. Sotamesa runs the wine side of your event, dinner or office party. You take the credit.
  • 03  Tastings. Guided, 8 to 30 people, anywhere with a table. Blind, if you’re brave.

Received. Notes left under the table always get read. Josh writes back from his side of it.
